Huia Vineyard

Claire and Mike Allen, having worked in the industry for years, always had a dream of creating their own wine and did so when they set up Huia Estate back in 1996. Their passion is overflowing and is truly infectious. From the very start they set about creating New Zealand’s premium sustainable and organic winery. Their family’s love of music seems to dance through the vineyards as though each wine was created around a piece of music.

Huia Vineyards are over achievers in the world of organic and biodynamic practices. A wide diversity of plant, insect and animal life flourishes in their vineyards, nurturing rich soils and bringing fabulous flavours to the grapes. Working in harmony with the land around them, everything used in production is composted and returned to the earth. Their vegan-friendly wines are created without the use of artificial additives, leaving the wines full of natural texture.
